While spring restoration projects are taking place on the Main Level, we have a special opportunity for a new tour. Up to ten guests are guided through the Ground Floor of the Mansion, including Americas oldest existing gymnasium and the home of Open Court Publishing, including the original typesetting room. Youll see how the Hegelers and Caruses ran a publishing company out of the Mansion and some of the ancillary rooms that make this different than your normal residence. In addition, youll also hear stories about the family that lived in the home and the legacy they left.This tour lasts about an hour, and the cost is $18 per adult, $15 per senior/student. Veterans and Active Duty Military are free of charge for this tour.Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your tour. This will allow you time to hang up your coat, use the restroom, and be ready before your tour group departs at its scheduled time.
